Nutrition
Understanding that the brain development takes place during the early toddler years and continues to grow through preschool, nutrition plays is vitally role in a child’s healthy, growth, and development. Therefore, partnering with the USDA: Food and Nutrition Services and participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) we are moving one step closer to ensuring that we are doing our part in helping with the healthy nutritional growth of our children.
Children’s Center of Mercer County stives to help your child meet their daily nutritional needs. We offer healthy meals, snacks, and 1% milk to all our children as a part of our participation in the CACFP Program. We train our staff on how follow USDA serving, portion size guidelines, cleaning and sanitation standards, and maintain accurate records. We provide families with information and guidelines for participation.
The CACFP provides reimbursement for healthy meals and snacks served to children enrolled at CCMC. Please be sure to complete the Meal Benefit Income Eligibility and Enrollment forms. This helps the program get reimbursed for a portion of the meals your child receives.
